American Community Bank & Trust (ACBT) was founded on a simple idea: that business owners deserve bankers who know them, understand their goals, and have the authority to help them move forward.
In the late 1990s, a group of local commercial bankers saw relationships being replaced by layers of corporate decision-making. Their clients felt it and they felt it too.
Rather than accept this change, they decided to build something different. With support from local business leaders across McHenry County, they launched American Community Bank & Trust in 2000.
Their goal was never to become the biggest bank in the market. Instead, their goal was to become the bank businesses could count on.
Independence Matters
Because we are independently owned, decisions are made close to the clients we serve.
Our bankers are empowered to have conversations, solve problems, and build long-term relationships instead of simply processing transactions.
This approach has helped us earn the trust of business owners, investors, families, and community leaders throughout northern Illinois and Chicagoland.
